Children's participation in International Workshop
Two Children from VOC participated in 10th International Workshop on Children's Development Khazana (CDK) & Child Health Cooperative (CHC) at Wayanad, Kerala, India from 31st August to 8th September 2015. Altogether 26 organizations from 8 countries including Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Ghana, Madagascar, Kirgizstan and Tajikistan were participated in the event organized by Butterflies, India. VOC along with 2 organizations Child Welfare Scheme Nepal (CWSN, Pokhara) and Youth Society Nepal (YSN, Chitwan) participated in the event from Nepal.
CDK members from VOC's Preparation Center, Raj Kumar Uprety and Ajay Gurung, along with Program Coordinator, Mr. Govinda Koirala, participated in the event. The event was focused on discussion related to CDK and CHC in which all the participants shared how CDK & CHC have impacted their lives; learn new concepts & methodologies for their better implementation. During the seminar, the children also participated on 2 days training on Counseling Skill for children.
Similarly, after returning from their visit to India, the participants' children shared their knowledge gained and travel experiences amongst other CDK members from VOC branches in Kathmandu at an event organized by VOC on 21st September 2015. They also shared that the training on counseling skill was very helpful and they are confident that they could apply it in their daily life. At the same time, all CDK branches presented their current status and also shared their plans for the further steps. In total 60 participants, members from VOC's CDK branches along with the adult focal persons, were present during the sharing session.
